One of my favorite trees is the Birch. It was also the very first tree I painted when I first began my women and nature inspired art, Women Are Like Trees. This painting is created with so many vibrant detailed brush strokes and colors. This piece is a part of my collection The Flow of Nature, and truly represents the flow and change that we natural experience in life. I saw this woman holding her baby and embodying this new body nature gifted her. She has faced so many versions of her body before, knowing we are not meant to stay the same forever...but accepting this new body can be difficult when, for the longest time, the world around us didn’t normalize and bring to light these changes. She glances down at her body, her eyes tracing every new stretch mark, fold and shape. She knew what had changed because her eyes have memorized every inch of her being. She is a reminder that it is a gift to witness the change and transformation of our bodies but this is also a deeply healing journey. Give yourself time and love. Your body is powerful.
