This title came to me because Orioles represent good fortune, the energy of the sun and creative passion. We must give time and nourishment to be able to witness this birds stunning beauty and song. With my own interpretation of nature, this reminds us that we bring our own good fortune and creative passions by walking the path that leads us in that direction, no matter how uncomfortable it may feel at first. Take this as a sign that your energy deserves to bask in the sun light. The Orioles are the reminder of pursuing your dreams and they provide the courage to push through self-doubt and hesitation. Our dreams and goals take time. The sun will show you the beauty of all the seeds you have been planting. 
 
COLLECTION: "If These Wings Could Fly" is inspired not only by the process of creating these pieces, but the idea that women will always continue to seek their freedom of self and self expression.
 
The process of creating these pieces have challenged me to let go of everything that I know and everything that is comfortable. Reminding me that I have the freedom to make changes and to try new things. It's the same in our lives.
 
As women we have adapted for so long. We kept quiet because it was comfortable enough and easy enough to get by...even though our words and concerns fell on deaf ears. But this series of paintings will be the reminder that women deserve to feel seen, heard and understood...deserve to fly free and to change our minds freely.
